Oru kidayan karunai manu is gripping enough to make the audience witness a fun filled rural drama. Director suresh sangaiah has developed his script with interesting knots and twists. A simple script can be worthy enough with the proper screenplay, and the maker has exactly done that with the cast. Vidharth as ramamoorthy has done his part really well along with Raveena as Seetha who has taken one step ahead from her professional dubbing artist to a lead heroine.
Vidharth and Raveena, a newly married couple, plan to start a new life and the villagers decide to offer a goat as a sacrifice to their deity. When there are too many reasons to be happy there is always a way for trouble and that exactly happens for vidharth who impulsively decides to drive the lorry to impress his newly married wife, thereby ending up in a freaky accident with a local getting killed. As the situations get heated, the villagers in the lorry plan to hide the incident for the sake of vidharth and raveena. The conditions can be a bit dangerous but what the director offered is filled with laughter and twists that hold the audience without any boredom.
The movie tone is quite realistic. In terms of good rural dramas in Tamil cinema, Oru kidayin karunai manu is no exception. The supporting cast needs a particular mention for keeping the script to stay live till the very end. Vidharth, we all know has the ability to present himself and he has not missed this time as well.
As the whole country is turning to be animal lovers it’s a bold and rustic decision from suresh sangaiah who didn’t force himself to develop the content with a force-fitted social message. Rather he has kept it simple and presented oru kidayin karunai manu as a rural commercial film filled with humour.
What difference does it make between the life of a human and the life of a dumb goat that is ready to be offered as a sacrifice? This has been conveyed brilliantly. The audience will enjoy a good run-time of comedy throughout the end. Overall it’s certainly a good watch of its content and the presentation. It has clearly won over audiences with a soft and humble display of characters.
