More ministers have joined the list of members of the Tamil Nadu cabinet slamming Kamal Haasan, for the latter’s criticism that corruption has become rampant in the state.
On Monday itself, finance minister D Jayakumar, law minister C Ve Shanmugam and information minister Kadambur Raju hit out at the actor.
While Jayakumar challenged Kamal to enter politics, Shanmugam said the actor did not have guts to talk like this when Jayalalithaa was alive.
According to Stalin, Kamal’s charges reflected the mindset of the people of the state. “The DMK too has been stating that the ruling regime is corrupt. We are saying this repeatedly,” he said.
Panneerselvam said everyone including Kamal has the right to express their views in a democracy. “Instead of threatening him, the ministers should counter it with proofs”, he added.
