Gautham Karthik says no to ‘Agni Natchathiram’ remake

Gautham Karthik has put full-stop to the buzz that he and Vikram Prabhu would play the lead roles in the remake of ‘Agni Natchathiram’, a film which had their fathers, Karthik and Prabhu, respectively, in lead roles.

Speaking to reporters in Chennai on Tuesday, he said, “Agni Natchathiram is one of the finest films ever made so I prefer to not act in its remake.”

He added: “Though Kadal gave me the interest to pursue acting as a career, Rangoon is my first hit. Currently, I am acting in Sippai, Ivan Thanthiran and Hara Hara Mahadeviki.”

Talking about his family, he described his mother as his pillar of strength. He added: “Appa is a legend. Now I’m learning a lot of great things about him from the industry folks. I have also started watching the old films of my dad and granddad (Muthuraman).”
